©larvalbug

The small and inconspicuous Vagabond Crambus Moth usually looks like a bit of stick debris, perfect camouflage for hiding during the day. The strange "feather duster" appendages on its head are the labial palps, which basically protect the proboscis when it is withdrawn, but can also add to the un-moth-like appearance. The antennae on this moth are thin and held flat back over the rolled up wings.
