The most charming aspect of the false day flower is its blossoms, which look like tiny faces when viewed up close. A cool weather spring annual, these plants begin growing during the winter and bloom during the early spring. Given sufficient water, they will continue to live into the beginning of summer, but soon succumb to the heat. False day flowers are upright, many-stemmed plants and grow to about two feet in height. They frequently occur in colonies as the seeds germinate where they have fallen.
