Chilean Wine Palm (Jubaea chilensis)

A donated specimen of this magnificent and hardy species was stolen out of the Hartman Prehistoric Garden in the winter of 2005-06 before a picture was made. The way that it was ripped violently out of the ground makes it unlikely that it survived this traumatic event, as these palms have sensitive roots. The palm has never been replaced. Anyone with knowledge about this theft, please contact .
