The golden ball lead-tree is a small spindly tree or an open shrub, depending on how much it has been browsed by deer. The weak stems break easily, but the plant responds by growing back quickly. While the tiny, bright green leaves are attractive, the most impressive feature of the plant is its springtime flush of 1 inch yellow flower clusters.
