An unusual looking butterfly, the Question Mark has oddly shaped, angular wings. The orange and black colors make it fairly easy to identify. These insects are not usually seen feeding on flowers, but prefer tree sap, rotted fruit, and even animal droppings.

The Question Mark gets its name from a pair of small silvery white markings on the middle of the underside of the hindwing, visible on the view presented below. These sometimes form a recognizable question mark, but can also just look like a slightly curved line and a dot.
