Pale Bordered Field Cockroach (Pseudomops septentrionalis)

Pale Bordered Field Cockroach (Pseudomops septentrionalis)
©larvalbug

Most cockroach/human encounters are not pleasant, as they often occur indoors. The attractive pale bordered field cockroach, however, is an outdoor insect, and distinctly less repellent. Cockroaches are one of the most ancient orders of insects, having evolved in the Carboniferous. This roach, less than 1 inch long, can often be seen in the garden, where they fly or climb about on vegetation as they scavenge for food.
