White-eyed Vireo (Vireo griseus)

The White-eyed Vireo is more likely to be heard than seen. They feed on insects and are difficult to spot in dense foliage. The species has several calls, and it tends to repeat its highly variable song over and over for long periods.
The nest is usually well hidden, but low to the ground. This didn't protect the nest shown above, though, from being parasitized by a brown-headed cowbird.
